Touché Amoré at Lisboa Live - 2025

Californian band Touché Amoré came to Lisbon last Tuesday and filled the Lisboa ao Vivo on a rainy and unforgettable night.

Accompanied by the bands Boneflower and Trauma Ray, who took care of the warm-up in a surprising way, the night couldn't have been better. Produced by House of Fun, which has been betting on excellent names to give us incredible concerts in Portugal, we at Metal Junkbox were there to check out everything that happened.

BONEFLOWER

The Spaniards from Boneflower were a real surprise, literally, as they weren't in the official announcement and right around 8:15pm the trio took to the stage and opened their toolbox with an absurd and brutal beatdown. Presenting engaging post-hardcore with more chaotic and hallucinatory screaming melodies that create a dense and extremely surprising atmosphere, the band captivated the still timid audience that was arriving at the Lisbon Live. And they opened up to those arriving from work at the Lav, saying that tomorrow they would have to be in Madrid to get back to their jobs too, showing a little of the reality of the undergroud and that the life and glamor of a rock star is far from being a reality.

TRAUMA RAY

When the Texan quintet took to the LAV stage, the house was already packed and eager for Trauma Ray's performance.

Unfortunately, some technical problems got in the way of the first few songs, with the loss of sound from the microphone and vocalist Uriel Avila's guitar, which left things a little cold at first, something that once resolved was completely dissipated with the quality and atmosphere that the band manages to impress, but with little time left to climb the mountain.

They presented a shoegaze of the highest quality, with huge walls of sound and melancholic melodies at the same time as inserting weight and aggression, balancing their sound in an exquisite way, almost hypnotizing the audience. Pity about the technical problems with Trauma Ray's debut in Portugal.

TOUCHÉ AMORÉ

After eight years since their last visit to Lisbon, Touché Amoré returned to the Portuguese capital for a memorable night, and even on a rainy Tuesday they almost sold out Lisboa ao vivo.

The Californians are undoubtedly one of the leading names in post-hardcore today, with their recently released album 'Spiral in a Straight Line', released on October 11, 2024, and produced by renowned producer Ross Robinson, the band continues to maintain the same flame, innovation, and reflection in lyrics and melodies that connect with the audience in an almost transcendental way, and that's exactly what we saw at Lav tonight.

People were crying, singing at the top of their lungs and pouring out their emotions with every lyric that the charismatic frontman Jeremy Bolm sang, starting with the first "Nobody's" which kicked off the chaos and fun with several mosh pits and crowd surfing from start to finish, from the new work there was still time to send "Force of Habit", "Disasters" and "Hal Ashby" a beautiful presentation of songs that worked perfectly live.

With real gems from the album "Parting the Sea Between Brightness and Me" released in 2011 such as "Art Official", "Face Ghost" or "Pathfinder" they dominated the audience who sang along with Bolm phrase by phrase. Just over an hour into the concert, Touché Amoré managed to deliver a remarkable evening, with a spectacular vibe in which everyone was rowing in the same direction and making everyone present go away wet but from sweat and not from the rain that was falling in Lisbon.
