Here we have a project that has captivated us every time it appears on Metal Junkbox and that is nothing new to our most attentive followers, we are talking about the great project Mission To Sleep, which has just released its debut album called "A Spark Or The End" on April 25th.

Hailing directly from Boston, USA, Mission to Sleep is fronted by composer and multi-instrumentalist Rob Wu. On their debut, the band presents seven tracks, spread over just over 28 minutes, that surprise from the very first seconds. Mixing elements of post-hardcore, alternative rock and even flirtations with emo, the band navigates atmospheres that vary between melancholy and hope, exploring more intimate and even introspective moments with cathartic explosions that work very well here "Carousel Teeth" featuring Aversed is a clear and stunning example.

The singles "Fall Into Bloom" and "This Massacre" are a modern emotional petard that manages to be brutal and beautiful at the same time, with great melodies and extremely catchy vocals. Another immediate highlight is "Like Heaven", featuring Chris Preece from the band Vanna, which is post-hardcore full of impacting riffs and intense vocals, delivering a dense, deep sound with a cohesive production that lets it all hang out.

The album, which explores themes of loss, self-discovery and resilience, ends with my favorite "Bury The Ghost", a beautiful melody accompanied by soulful vocals that explode into a chorus that won't leave your head, a spectacular way to end a work of the highest standard in the case of a debut, or in this case a great way to start...
