The band from Minas Gerais, Black Pantera, have just released their third album called Ascensão and I can tell you straight away that it will certainly be one of the best albums of 2022.
We're faced with twelve songs full of weight, aggression, intensity and with lyrics that are fundamental and current in our times, with succinct criticism and categorical finger-pointing, the miners spare no one who is on the wrong side of history. The power trio continues to mix hardcore, punk and heavy metal, clearly adding new strands such as groove, nu metal and alternative rock with a gigantic identity of their own.
Produced by none other than Rafael Ramos, one of the greatest and most talented producers of our time, the Ascensão album proves with each passing track that the chemistry between Black Pantera and Rafael is exquisite and that it is evident in every detail. We also have the participation of Rodrigo Lima (Dead Fish) who leaves his mark on "Dia de Fogo" and the band Tuyo who collaborate in an insane way on the closing song "Estandarte".
Songs like Padrão é o Caralho, Fogo nos Racistas, Anti Vida and Eles que Lutem have already been born true classics, we are facing one of the best albums released this year, in Black Pantera's most powerful work so far, certainly the consolidation of one of the main bands in the Brazilian Metal scene today. I'm looking forward to seeing the guys play in Lusitanian lands, so don't wait another minute to check out this stonker!
