One of the pillars of Brazilian extreme metal has just released their seventh studio album, Claustrofobia and their brutal Unleeched.
With almost thirty years on the road, the São Paulo band continues to show the same aggression and heaviness as always throughout the incredible nine tracks of Unleeched.
The nervous power trio formed by brothers Marcus and Caio D'Angelo and bassist Rafael Yamada leave no stone unturned in the little over thirty minutes, intense, cohesive and visceral the album opens with Stronger Than Faith with both feet in the door, powerful riffs based on the thrash/death of the early 90s set the tone for the beating, the sharp riffs continue in The Encrypted and in Neuro Massacre which features 7-string guitars giving an overwhelming contemporary sound.
There's also a groove, mixed with death metal and hip hop in one of the best tracks on the Psychosapiens album, and it closes with 2020( March To Glory), which has a more modern feel and is different from what we're used to when we listen to Claustrofobia.
This is one of the best albums of the band's career, very well produced, with exquisite ideas in both sound and lyrics. Unleeched will certainly be one of the best albums of the year, rewarding one of the most underrated bands in extreme metal worldwide.
