Just over forty years old, the British band Tokyo Blade have just released their tenth studio album, entitled Fury.
There's no doubt that Tokyo Blade have been carrying the banner of NWOBHM for forty years, and the most incredible thing about Fury is that we're talking about an album with fifteen songs that lasts just over an hour and twenty minutes and never sounds tiresome or cloying, the creative level of both the lyrical part and the sound of the English is impressive, intense, captivating, fun we have here a real lesson in how to make a heavy metal album. Alan Marsh continues to sing a lot, and shows that he's getting better album after album. The guitar work of the duo Andy Boulton and John Wiggins is amazing, powerful riffs and perfectly crafted solos are one of the many highlights of Fury.
Tokyo Blade is a band that is little talked about, little remembered and much underestimated. For those who think that the band's heyday was just the first two albums, they are sorely mistaken. Long live Tokyo Blade!
