When I listened to Rooted into Grudge, the balance between absurd heaviness and melody immediately struck a chord. Exploring metalcore, groove metal and progressive metal, the quartet managed to create a very distinctive identity and bring a brutal modernity to the game. Ekoa is a band to keep an eye on.
