The last day of Lisbon Tattoo Rock Fest 2024 was undoubtedly the most eclectic, there was music for all tastes, of course just good taste.
The audience was treated to a luxury line-up that delivered everything and more, bringing absolute satisfaction to those who attended LAV.
Direct from Braga, the band Mortuary Chapel who I'm sure those who follow MetalJunkbox have heard of, opened the day with all their usual unparalleled brutality, with a frontman who is dedicated to delivering the role, vocalist João Carlos.
The band from Braga soon showed the audience that they were there to deliver the full capacity of one of the great bands of the current Portuguese extreme metal scene.
There was still time, despite the short time the band had available, for a cover of the band's classic "Troops Of Doom". Sepultura. An impeccable show by a band that is well worth following closely.
The charismatic and controversial Michale Graves appeared on stage just before 7:30 p.m., when dozens of Misfits t-shirts could be seen all over the venue. Mr. Graves was a member of the band from 1997 to 2000, where he recorded albums that are still loved today, such as American Psycho (1997), Evilive II (1998) and Famous Monsters (1999), which turns 25 this year.
Accompanied by the House Of Dawn band, Mr. Graves went headlong into the entire Misfits discography from the very first song, "Abominable Dr. Phibes" + "American Psycho", the audience reacted immediately saying that this was the way he wanted to go and from then on the delight increased with each classic such as "Walk Among Us", "From Hell They Came" and the anthem "Dig Up Her Bones" where the whole LAV came crashing down. He also played classics from the era
Glenn Danzing's "Last Caress", "Halloween" and others. It's important to say that Graves performed very well, both physically and in terms of his voice, which is still very strong.
Graves made a light-hearted comment about taking a break from concerts, joking that it wasn't about legal problems, in reference to his recent controversies in which he linked himself to the extreme right-wing group Proud Boysand agreed to testify in favor of the group that invaded the capitol.
Few artists today have the charisma and musical flexibility of Adam "Nergal" Darski, leader of the black metal band Behemoth and of Me and That Man, which blends blues and dark folk exquisitely.
The band, which has already released three albums, has returned to brighten up Lisbon Tattoo Rock Fest 2024 even more, and I must congratulate producer Hell Xis Agency for making the right choice, as it's a band that can please all audiences and tastes.
Not many bands these days can deliver a show with the brutality, intensity and skill of the English band Onslaught who brought Lisbon Tattoo Rock Fest 2024 to a spectacular close.
There couldn't be any other way to close an event of this size, which every year becomes more firmly established in the calendar of everyone who appreciates art, culture and good music!
