Just a year after their last visit to Portugal, PAIN, led by the legendary Peter Tägtgren, returned to Portugal, more precisely for Lisboa Live in Lisbon on February 20, accompanied by another band that was here last year, the Germans from Oceans, and with the great Portuguese band Allgema opening.
Unfortunately, we didn't make it in time to cover the concert of the Lisbon band Allgema that we love so much. We've already had the chance to see the band live and we know what we missed, always with a lot of quality and power, it's worth seeking out and going to a concert by the band formed in 2019.
OCEANS
About four months ago we were at the same Lisboa ao Vivo to check out SEPTICFLESH + EQUILIBRIUM + OCEANSAt the time, we had already been very surprised by the quartet's ability to mesmerize the audience with their great stage presence, led by the talented frontman Timo Schwämmlein.
With a lively crowd singing along from the first song, the band got the party started with two songs from their most recent album HAPPY, released in September last year. "PARASITE" and "SPIT" kicked off the proceedings, heavy gutturals and bass mixed with screams and melodic vocals put Timo's performance in the spotlight.
Songs like "We Are Not Okay", "I Sing Alone" kept the energy high throughout the set, and "Sulfur", which closed the band's set list, left the atmosphere as hostile and heated as an opening band's finale should be, OCEANS has certainly consolidated its place in Portugal.

PAIN
At 9.45 p.m. the talented Peter Tägtgren, leader of HYPOCRISY, took to the Lisboa Live stage with his project PAIN already well known to the Portuguese public, with a packed house and a lively atmosphere, almost as if they were playing a big home decider.

Peter Tägtgren knows a lot about the business, and he knows how to carry the audience through his entire performance, with rhythmic riffs heavy on the bass lines, and insertions of electronic elements characteristic of the industrial metal that the band presents in its sound captivated everyone who had or had not seen the band live.

With the right to change costumes during the set to match the vibe, PAIN delivered everything in terms of performance and friendliness, especially when they threw balls at the audience, amusing and warming up everyone present while playing "Party in My Head", other great songs such as "Suicide Machine", "Don't Wake the Dead", "The Great Pretender" and "Shut Your Mouth", "Don't Wake the Dead", "The Great Pretender" and "Shut Your Mouth" closed a cold Thursday night in Lisbon which, at least in the Olivais area, turned out to be extremely hot. We'll be seeing Peter again with his HYPOCRISY in August at Milagre Metaleiro.
