Californians STICK TO YOUR GUNS have returned to Lisbon after having last visited in November 2022, to present their recently released Keep Planting Flowers, released 21 days before this live tour of Lisbon. In their luggage they brought three other incredible bands, accompanied by Bodysnatcher, Elwood Stray and No Cure this January 31st will be remembered for a long time.
Unfortunately, we didn't make it in time to see the concerts by No Cure and the Germans from Elwood Stray, but we did manage to record in photographs all the intensity of these promising bands, who really livened up the start of the event.

BODYSNATCHER
Straight from Florida, Bodysnatcher took to the LAV stage at around 9pm and my friends left no stone unturned, with their well-known brutality, aggression and intensity the quartet unleashed extremely heavy riffs, an overwhelming kitchen leaving no stone unturned.
The band, who released their Vile Conduct EP in the last quarter of 2024, played two songs from this recently released work, "Infested" and "Murder8", which worked to perfection and, like other cement backpacks, put the audience in a state of pure ecstasy. Together with frontman Kyle Medina, who kept the flame burning throughout with his stage presence and powerful vocals, and Bodysnatcher's nervous deathcore, it was a remarkable show from a band that has been consolidating itself and keeping the flame of Florida extreme metal alive!

STICK TO YOUR GUNS
Formed in Orange County, California, the band led by the charismatic Jesse Barnett, Stick To Your Guns, returned to Portugal after just over two years, and naturally a band of this caliber filled Room 2 of Lisboa ao Vivo, and those who attended that Friday could celebrate a remarkable night of hardcore and punk.
Attacking right from the start with a set that sounded like gunpowder, "Against Them All", "Severed Forever" and "Such Pain", the quintet knew what it was like to win the game right from the start, with great stage presence from all the members and of course with Jesse unstoppable on all sides of the stage, it was impossible to remain still for a second. From the recently released Keep Planting Flowers they played six songs, which is really to be commended, we don't always see bands defending their release preferring to bet on classics so as not to take any risks, now we all know that Stick To Your Guns are not afraid to take risks and they proved that songs like "Invisible Rain", "More Than a Witness" or "We All Die Anyway" work perfectly live keeping the atmosphere irreproachable.

Naturally, the band has a political appeal in its lyrics, and personality as a collective, and has given time for good messages such as dedicating "What Choice Did You Give Us?" to the suffering people of Palestine, or how we must plant and sow good, even though it may sometimes seem corny but it's the only way we can survive and face the expansion of the extreme right in the world, a message that says a lot about the cover of this new work.
Close to 11:15 p.m. the band closed the festivities, more than that, a celebration full of positive vibes with two hits "Married to the Noise" and "Nobody" so that no one would leave upset but with a taste for more, and Stick To Your Guns knows well that whenever they return to Portugal they'll have a big pack waiting for them.
