5th EDITION OF COMENDATIO MUSIC FEST WITH CLOSED BILLBOARD

The festival dedicated to the sounds and movements of modern progressive and ambient music returns to the
Paço da Comenda, in Tomar, on June 21st and 22nd. In addition to the already announced names Ihsahn, Oceans
Ate Alaska, The Cost, Killus, Equaleft, Yokovich, VOLA, Humanity’s Last Breath, AVKRVST, The
Broken Horizon, Lysergic and Phase Transition now join Above The Ocean and
Crimson Bridge, winners of the Comendatio Battle of the Bands 2025.

After four acclaimed editions featuring bands such as the
Englishmen TesseracT and Haken (both of whom made their Portuguese debuts at Comendatio Music Fest), the
Norwegians Leprous (who sold out the festival for the first time in 2024), the
australianos Plini e Caligula’s Horse, os alemães The Ocean, os holandeses Textures, entre muitas
other national and international bands, the festival will once again give stage to the universe of
national and international prog/ambient/post-rock.

The line-up for the 5th edition is made up of 14 bands, six of which are national. Among the names announced
there is a world premiere and three national premieres. Daniel Cardoso, from the festival organizers,
destaca: “À 5a edição o Comendatio Music Fest traz novidades dignas de destaque. Vamos ter o
norueguês Ihsahn a solo – mentor dos Emperor – que em nome próprio tem andado a explorar
more progressive sounds, so it fits easily into the stylistic context of the festival.

Another great novelty is The Cost, the band of youtuber, influencer and global phenomenon with 15M followers on social media, El Estepario Siberiano, who will be making their live debut at Comendatio.
It will be a landmark moment for the band and the festival. We also highlight the Danes
VOLA, an incredible band, much awaited by our audience and whom we had been trying to bring here
a few years ago, the British band Oceans Ate Alaska and also the debut in Portugal of AVKRVST, a band from
Norway is creating a buzz abroad." As for national talent, Daniel Cardoso adds: "A
don't miss Phase Transition, a young band that recently released an excellent album, and the
Equaleft, who have a solid career spanning several years and had never been to the festival before. The Comendatio
está preparado para receber, uma vez mais, de braços abertos todos os festivaleiros.”

The Comendatio Music Fest is organized by the Culture, Sport and Solidarity Association
Social de Paço da Comenda and has the support of Tomar City Council and the Union of Parishes of
Madalena and Beselga. In terms of transportation, it is worth highlighting the partnership with Strike Tours, with excursions to
from Braga, Guimarães, Porto, SM Feira, Aveiro and Coimbra. The festival takes place at ACDSS Paço da
