Frontiers' Landfall announces album "Wide Open Sky" and releases single "Running in Circles"

Brazilian melodic rock band Landfall has announced the release of its third album, "Wide Open Sky", scheduled for January 17, 2025, on the Frontiers Music Srl label. In anticipation, the group has released the single "Running In Circles", accompanied by an official visualizer.

Lead singer Gui Oliver shared his vision of the new single: "First of all, I think it's a strong song with a powerful message. We must be warriors in a world full of sin and greed. In our lives, we must never lose faith and never stop fighting, no matter what happens."

Guitarist Marcelo Gelbcke highlighted the evolution of the band's sound: "I consider Wide Open Sky to be our best album so far! We've expanded our creativity to find a unique style. The album is full of strong songs and ultimately defines Landfall's sound - instrumentally and vocally. Our first single, Running in Circles, navigates a more mysterious and serious side of the band, something we've explored in a few songs in the past. The song is catchy, and the chorus will stick in people's heads!".

The creative process of "Wide Open Sky"

The album was entirely composed, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered in Curitiba. The arrival of bassist Luis Rocha brought a new dynamic to the band, who used their live experiences as inspiration.

Drummer Felipe Souzza commented on the album's concept: "When you look at the open sky, you get the incredible feeling of limitless freedom. That's exactly what the album captures in terms of production, performance and new perspectives. The songs play with contrasts between day and night; some tracks are lighter and happier, while others are darker and heavier. This dynamic is also reflected in the cover art, which I consider to be a work of art in its own right."

Bassist Luis Rocha also highlighted the harmony during the creation process: "For someone new to the band, it could be a challenge to create an album at this point, but because everyone is on the same page and open to each other's ideas, the process was very smooth."

Landfall appeared in Curitiba in 2017 and is made up of Gui Oliver (vocals, ex-Auras), Marcelo Gelbcke (guitar), Luis Rocha (bass) and Felipe Souzza (drums). The band is known for its sound, which mixes the classic melodic rock of influences like Journey and the heavier footprint of bands like Dokken, White Lion and Extreme.

The group established itself on the music scene with the release of "The Turning Point" (2020) and "Elevate" (2022). In the last year, Landfall has played some outstanding shows in Brazil, including performances at the Hard Rock Café Curitiba and the famous Ópera de Arame, as well as opening for well-known artists such as Johnny Gioeli and Eric Martin.
